Are nidaq mx versions backward compatible?

I compiled a piece of software in VB.NET 2003 using NI DAQmx version 8.6.1.  Can I expect this to run properly on a PC with a more recent version of mx installed?

Yes, it will work on a computer with a newer version of DAQmx.
