Directly routing analog input to analog output

Hi all,
 
Is there a way to route an analog input signal (e.g., "Dev4/ai0") to another terminal (like a RTSI, PFI, AO, etc.)?

Hi John,

To answer your question, you are not able to internally route your analog input to another terminal. Would you be able to tell me a little more about your application? Do you need to route internally or would routing the signals externally be acceptable?

My experiment requires acquiring 64 voltage channels, but I'd like the ability both to see one of these channels on an oscilloscope and hear it on audio.  Routing externally is acceptable, just not preferred.  Are there any prepackaged devices for this?  Or would I have to make my own PCB?  Currently, I'm sending one the channels to analog out post-digitization, which makes the signal look pretty choppy on the oscilloscope.

Hi there,

Unfortunately there is no prepackaged National Instruments option to get your analog input routed to an output.

So long as you have high input impedance on all destinations, splitting your signal should not have a significant impact on your signal. To help make sure the signal is not affected, you could use a unity gain buffer. This would be a very simple option.

Alternatively I believe you should be able to output the signal through an analog output.  This will induce delay in your signal, but so long as you measure the signal fast enough and with the best possible resolution (setting the appropriate range) you should be able to also output the signal without making it choppy.  Try using a synchronized analog input/output example which you can find in the National Instruments Example Finder (Help>>Find Examples if you are working with LabVIEW).
