Pyramid,
To answer your second question first, there are many reasons that forums may
not be answered in the order they are submitted. First, the past two days were
actually holidays for National Instruments' corporate offices, and therefore
there is sometimes a longer lag time with this. Second, there is not just one
person who goes through and answers all of these forums and there is a
difference in both schedules and other tasks (since forum support is not the
sole job of an Applications Engineer) and there is sometimes other things that
are done before hand. Third, not all questions and posts are quick to answer.
Our Applications Engineers sometimes have to research an issue and find the
best solution and give the best amount of information. If we were to just
answer these questions in the order they were received, there is a good chance
that nothing would be answered for quite sometime, especially if we are having
to escalate the issue to our R&D department or other escalations. Fourth,
some forums are answered by other employees than Applications Engineers such as
members of our R&D team. While Applications Engineers are in charge of
answering forums when an answer is not posted after 24 hours, our R&D team
and other employees will frequent the forums and sometimes help out when they
know the answer to a question. In this case, they are providing their feedback
and help on their own and may not go through all forums and respond to every
one. Finally, realize that these forums are public discussion forums and are
handled quite a bit from our users as well as our employees. While we do help
with issues on this forum, our support structure has other options as well. We
have both email and phone support available and if you would like to speak with
someone sooner than these forums are providing, you do have that option as
well.
Looking back, I see that there was only one forum answered by an Applications
Engineer which came in after your post was submitted (as I am writing this).
This was actually a post which focused on DAQ and not specifically Measurement
Studio. DAQ is supported by another team than Measurement Studio's UI and Libraries
and therefore there are sometimes other teams answering posts on this forum.
This should not be seen as you being ignored, as other supporters may not have
the knowledge to help out with your issue, but instead please be patient and
someone should get to your post as soon as an answer is found.
That being said, I was able to research this issue this morning for quite some
time and found there is not a way to have this ability to have a selection box
unless you are using zoom. My question to this would be, what exactly would
this selection box do? Would you want to be able to copy data or delete data?
What other type of use would you expect from a selection box on a graph? If you
let us know what your end use for this would be, I would definitely be willing
to submit this feedback to our R&D team for future releases. I am just not
sure what use this would have for this?
