How do I create a custom map ranges scale with C#

I can't seem to figure out what functions to use that will allow me to create a custom scale with C#. The scale will only be applied to one virtual channel. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am not sure exactly what you mean by "map ranges" but if you simply would like a custom scale, here are two posts that point you to the resources you need:
