Hello everyone,
I'm just new today here and i have a quastion about the symbols in Measurement STudio for .NET.
There are allot of symbols in it but for my use i'm missing some symbols.
Is there a possibility to make for my own some extra symbols to it?
Can anybody maybe tell me what i must have for software and what i must do?
Thx.

Hi,
I'm also disappointed that NI did not include a few more basic controls in the Measurement Studio tookbox such as valves, pumps, some basic piping to connect them, etc... I would like to create some basic process overview displays, but I really don't want to go out and spend an extra $500 - $1000 for a .net component library above what I've already paid for Measurement Studio. If anyone knows of a freeware (or low cost shareware) set of basic controls, I would sure be interested!

Hi,
What do you mean with symbols?
If you want to create custom controls, this link might be helpful.

What psgeorge and I mean is the following:
in measurment Studio there are in VB.NET by default, examples of symbols provided.
But there are some of the most common components not provided, is there a option to make them by ower self?07-16-2009 08:08 AM
I have made custom user controls for different applications, but we are talking about graphical controls such as pumps, valves, piping, etc... that can be dragged onto a form and interconnected to represent a process or system. The problem I have found is not so much the coding of the functionality, but the drawing of the graphical symbol itself. I'm not a particularly good "artist" and I would like a set of "graphic" controls that seem to go together well as well as having the 3D appearance, resizing capability, some rudimentary animation, etc... I guess this is why you pay a fair amount for a good package... it is a lot of work to create! Anyway, when I only need a few symbols (controls), I can't justify the cost and that's why I was looking for a lower cost package. Again, it would have been nice if NI had included a few more basic controls in the Measurement Studio package!

Measurement Studio does not provide any tools to do this yoourself. It is possible, see the link in my first post.
