Measurement Studio and Automation Symbols Toolkit

Can Automation Symbols Toolkit be used with Measurement Studio v8.6.1?  I've been searching through NI's website, but I haven't been able to determine whether I can or not for sure, but I have the feeling the answer is that Automation Symbol Toolkit is obsolete.  If it is obsolete, what are most people doing to create process displays withgrphics such as pumps, vessels and piping... etc.?  I've thought of using MS Visio to create a background picture for my Visual Studio form.  Any ideas?

I've used the Component Works Automation symbols toolkit with Visual Studio 2005/Measurement Studio For 2005 without any issues.

Thanks for the response!  I did find a manual on the NI website... "Component Works - Getting Results with ComponentWorks Automation Symbols".  It indicated that (as verified by your response) that it could be used with various packages (visual basic, c++, Delphi, etc.).  Unfortunately, it appears to be an obsolete product.  My question is was it bundles with earlier versions of Measurement Studio or LabView?  I would like to see if it will work with Measurement Studio / Visual Studio 2008 since it worked with Measurement Stuido / Visual Studio 2005 for you.  Any thoughts as to where I could get a copy?

Hi Paul,

The copy I have was purchased back in 2001 as an add-on to the standard Component Works package.  I don't know where you could get a copy now.
