Did you mean:

Measurement Studio cannot find the LabWindows Installation directory.

Hello,

I want to convert former LabWindows/CVI projects into Measurement Studio Visual C++ projects by using the Measurement Studio 7.1. Therefore the following software had been installed:

1. MS .NET Framework 1.1
2. MS Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional
3. LabWindows/CVI 7.1
4. Measurement Studio 7.1 Enterprise Edition

While creating a new LabWindows/CVI project within the Measurement Studio by using file->new->project->Measurement Studio Projects->CVI projects this error message popped up 'LabWindows must be installed in order to run the project wizard. Install LabWindows/CVI and try again.'... but LabWindows/CVI is already installed as mentioned above.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely
Mario

Are you running this on a non-English OS?If not, try changing the regional settings to English (USA) by going to the Control Panel >> Regions and Language Settings and changing the Standards and Formats to English(USA). Then start up Visual Studio and try using the project wizard again.

You can change the regional settings once you are done with the project wizard.

Let me know how this goes.

Hello,

thanks for that helpful clue. That was the solution!

I'm using Windows 2000 Prof. whose Regions and Language Settings are configured to Germany. Since changing them to English(USA) everything is working fine.

The german NI support called me this morning and confirmed your clue as a right way to handle that problem. They also announced a patch to solve this little 'bug'.

Thank you once again!
