Measurement Studio for Visual Basic .NET or NI Web UI Builder?

Hey there,

I need to build a thin web acessible UI to acess a LabVIEW 2011 Web Service. Which one to go, Measurement Studio for Visual Basic .NET or NI Web UI Builder?

Any information or suggestions would be nice. 

Note: I don't have experience with text-based languages but the Visual Basic seems to be handy. Also, I couldn't see much work done on Web UI Builder.

Raniel,
I would encourage you to visit the NI LabVIEW Web UI Builder Product Information page to learn more about this product and see examples. The Web UI Builder is very useful for creating rich web applications without needing to do much (if any) text-based programming. It runs using the Microsoft Silverlight plugin on the client, which should be taken into consideration wheh determining how light you need the application.

Measurement Studio for Visual Basic .NET will require some text-based knowledge. This may present a high learning curve if you are not familiar with text-based languages. Also, you will need to understand the layers of a web application and the necessary protocols to implement them.

My recommendation would be Web UI Builder since you indicated you do not have previous experience with text-based languages.

I've done some testing on the Web UI Builder, it's pretty neat.

How about the support related to the Web UI Builder? It's been years since the release but I don't see much work done, solved issues and so on.

Should I expect something from this NI week ?

Unfortunately I do not have information on the development status of Web UI Builder, or when the next update will be.
