Measurement Studion Update for C++ installation trouble with Visual Studio 2003

I recently got a new machine. I installed Visual Studio 2003 without installing Visual Studio.net (2002). I then tried to install Meas Studio Update and it states I must have Visual Studio.net installed. Is there any way to install Meas Studio into Vis Studio 2003 directly? Or do I have to spend time Uninstalling Vis Stuio 2003, installing Vis Studio 2002, Installing Meas Studio and then installing Vis Sutdio 2003

When you say "Meas Studio Update," which version of Measurement Studio are you talking about? There was a Measurement Studio for Visual C++ .NET 2002 update when Visual Studio .NET 2002 was first released, but Measurement Studio 7.0 and 7.1 require Visual Studio .NET 2003. If you want to use the Measurement Studio C++ libraries in Visual Studio .NET 2003, you will need to upgrade to Measurement Studio 7.1.

I am trying to install Version 6.0 Meas Studio in Visual Studio 2003. I am using MFC so I really don't need 7.1

On my previous machine, I started with Visual Studio 2002 and Meas Studio 6.0 update. When I upgraded to 2002, my Meas Studio "add-in" was automatically transferred to Vis Studio 2003. I was able to build Meas Studio apps in Vis Studio 2003 without any issues.

Each version of Visual Studio works with a different version of MFC. To be able to upgrade your application to use VS 2003, you need Measurement Studio 7.1, which is the current version. This version has updated versions of the Measurement Studio libraries that have been designed and tested for use with the new MFC libraries that come with VS 2003.

The measurement studio update for VS 2002 was specific for 2002. The Measurement Studio libraries for VS 2002 will not automatically work with VS 2003.
