Measuring tone signal width with NI DAQ 6009

I would like to find out if NI DAQ 6009 can be used to measure a 1kHz tone of a certain duration (eg. 2s), and then log the tone frequency and its duration?  If yes, what are the functions to use for this purpose.  Thanks
