Whidbey compatible with Measurement Studio 7.0?

I'm using Visual Studio 2005 Beta (Whidbey). It works great with Measurement Studio 7.1 Beta.

But now, I'm trying to make Whidbey work with the released version (7.0) of Measurement studio. I want to release it in some equipment and I don't want to use MS7.1 until it's released.

I am getting a license error ("The program will stop in 30 seconds"). I've already tried uninstalling MS7.1 and re-installing MS7.0. VS2003 and MS7.0 work well together, but Whidbey and MS7.0 don't get along. Any suggestions?

Hello

The license issue should not have anything to do with Whidbey and MStudio 7.0. Im curious though about how you got into this state.
Can you describe the order in which you installed and removed the different versions of MStudio?

Something to look into would be making sure the project license file ( license.licx) is referencing the correct versions of the UI assemblies. You can open up the licx file ( its a text file) and search and replace any invalid assembly version references. Below is an example of one of the strings in the license file.

NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms.ScatterGraph, NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms, Version=7.0.0.341...

Try rebuilding the app once the license file has been updated.

Hope this h

I agree. It's a license issue.

I found that the Analysis library is causing the trouble. The UI/DAQ libraries aren't a problem. I tried modifing the licx file, but that didn't help. I still get the "30-second" window.

VS2003 has the NI menu that allows me to add/remove libraries. In the past, this has fixed any licensing errors. But the Whidbey editor doesn't have the NI menu. Is there a way to use this tool in the Whidbey editor?

I have been playing with both Whidbey and MS7.1beta simultanously. I was able to make licensing work correctly with Whidbey using MS7.1beta. I was never able to get MS7 to license correctly with Whidbey (like I said, only the analysis library is causing the trouble).

I know that NI doesn't support Whidbey unt
il it's released. But it's sooooo much better than VS2003 that I can't go back...
