cvi conversion problem

Hello everybody,

i am using labwindows cvi 6.0 to develop my application.
Now i want to evaluate measurement studio 7.1
After installing the evaluation version from the cd, i want to convert my existing cvi project with the
"LabWindows/CVI Conversion" and get the following error "Measurement Studio cannot find the LabWindows/CVI installation directory"

I have installed the studio version on another partition than the labwindows. Can i set the path to the labwindows installation within VisualStudio/Measurement Studio or is there another solution to my problem??

Check the registry of the machine that you get this error on at HKLM\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\CVI\6.0. Look at the InstallDir value and verify that the path is valid. Also, look at the CompatibilityMode value and verify that it's set to Msvc. This is what Measurement Studio looks at to find the LabWindows/CVI installation directory, so you could get this error if any of the above are missing or invalid.

All the configuration is as you described. There must be another problem!?

Are you using a German OS? Or is this happening on an English version of XP?

i am using a german version of XP with SP2.

This problem seems to be related to the localization settings on the system. Try changing the system regional setting to English (USA) and try running the wizard again

So go to Start >> Systemsteuerung (Control Panel) >> Regions - Und Sprachoptionen (Regional And Language Options) and specify Standards und Formate to be be English (USA).

Then try running the wizard. It should pick it up correctly.
