My purpose is to snap an image from the webcam and store it to a file.  I can't seem to find the right function that can help me do so.

any advice?

Hi,

I am assuming that your webcam is DirectShow compatible, otherwise, it will not work with IMAQdx. Please take a look at the shipping examples for IMAQdx. For a Win XP machine, they will be located here: Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Examples, and for Win Vista/7, here: Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Examples. There is a snap example for C#, VB.NET as well as MSVC.
