How to read from GPIB when it is runing by another program?

I want to write a program like NI Spy. Would you pls give me some advice or support? I use VB or CVI. The difficulty is how to read from GPIB when it is runing by another program? My email is gandy.shen@elcoteq.com Thanks in advance!

BTW: NI-Spy does not read from the GPIB bus. Spy interacts with the driver, but does not make function calls like a regular application. More than one application can't read the same message.

thanks for your support, but I hope you can give me more help. Since there GPIB and VISA functions can not spy the GPIB bus, how to interact with the driver. Can you give me a detail way or source code(VB, CVI or LabVIEW) to read from the GPIB bus? thanks

Unfortunately, I do not have any source code. Of course, source showing the method that NI uses would be proprietary and could not be made public.
