I attach a picture about the error.

Thank you

Hi Antonio,

I found information acording your description.
What kind of Software are you using? Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or 2? Visual Studio Service Pack 3?
It seems that there is a inference between this two. If this is the cause of the problems, the solution would be to deinstall Visual Studio and reinstall it without the Service Pack 3. After this installation is complete, your DAQ board should show up in the CWAI device list.

I hope this helps to solve the problem.

Hola otra vez,

I was searching more and found a other possiblity for this behaviour. If you have installed NI-DAQmx I believe this is the reason much more likly.
M-series boards are supported by DAQmx drivers, and Visual Basic 6.0 support Traditional DAQ only. The work around for this is to upgrade your software to Visual Basic. NET which supports DAQmx.
So the upgrade would reslove the problem!

Thank you for you response. I unistalled servic pack 3 of visual basic but it did not work. We can not chage to .net because we use other application in Visual Basic so we continuing search other alternative.

Thank you.

Hi Antonio,

I got new information.
As I told you this error seems to be the NI-DAQmx incompability. So the newest verion 8.6 is now compatible with Visual Studio Service Pack 6!
So I recommend to update Visual Studio to SP6 and install NI-DAQmx 8.6:
http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/833/lang/en
In the Readme-file you see, that Visual Studio supports DAQmx 8.6 and you device.

I hope this helps!

Hello,
I installed Visual Studio 6.0 and service pack 6 (not more service pack). Then, I installed NI-DAQmx 8.6  but it doesn`t work. Do you have any tutorial to help me?
I have been trying to execute the samples but the device usb6218 is not detected..

Thank you for all.

Yes, I can. I can receive and send data through MAX and labView. And I can create a task in Max and execute it with Visual Basic 6.0 but i can not use the control in Visual Studio 6.0 to create the task. I need only use Visual Studio without the task made in Max.

Thank You.

Hi,

ok, the problem seems to be that the examples in VS 6 are for the trad. DAQ and wont work with DAQmx.
Here you have a link for DAQmx examples for Visual Studio. I think this will resolve the problem:
