I recently went throught the "Building an
Interactive Web Page with DataSocket" application
note 127 excercise with the Componentworks
evaluation package. I was able to compile the
control in VB 5.0 CCE fine and publish it to a
web page. Everything worked great on my local
machine but when I tried to view the sample web
page over the internet from another user's
terminal, I was prompted to restart the computer
after the control was downloaded. After the
computer rebooted the control worked fine.
Is this normal behavior or have I forgotten to
include some important files in the website
directory? This behavior is very annoying if
everyone who visits the website for the first
time has to reboot to install the ActiveX
control. Any
suggestions.
