You can download the newest version of the ActiveX controls from here. These will update your controls to version 7.1 and are available for free for Measurement Studio users. I'm sure sure about the particular bug you mentioned, but you should be able to verify this by downloading the update.
The 7.1 activeX controls are freely available to customers using Measurement Studio 6.0 with Visual Studio 6.0. The only reason you might want to upgrade to Measurement Studio 7.1 would be if you are going to be moving to Visual Studio .NET 2003. MStudio 7.1 provides native .NET class libraries and user interface controls for using with Visual S
tudio .NET 2003.
