How does the OnError event for the CNINumEdit class work?

I am able to get other events to work (ie. OnKeyPress, OnChange) but I am not able to get a message from the OnError (-608) event.

I am trying to remove the error message "Type mismatch" when the user types illegal characters into the field.

I am running Measurement Studio for C++ on Windows 2000.
