installation problem - Visual C++ 6.0 sp5

I've used Measurement Studio 1.0 mainly for CVI 5.5. Now i had reason to install "ComponentWorks C++" but faced following problems:

- installation complains: needs "Visual C++ 6.0 (service pack 3 or later)"

So i get sp5 from www.microsoft.com but alas, the same error continues.

Presumably the installation procedure does not recognize that sp5 is installed, or what's wrong? I'm still unable to get ComponentWorks++ installed.

This is addressed in a KB article. Basically, you just need to add a registry key to fake out the MStudio 1.0 installer.

Alternatively, you could upgrade to Measurement Studio 7.0.
