Changing encoder counts per revolution in NI MAX has no effect

Hello,

I have a linear slide and a stepper motor connected to a PCI 7332. I realized the actual velocity of the slide was off by a factor of 2.5 from what I input in NI MAX, which is also the ratio of the actual resolution of my encoder (selected by means of switches on the device itself, a NI-P70530) to the encoder counts per revolution setting in NI MAX. So I tried to change the value in NI MAX to reflect the actual setting on the encoder, but to no avail. Changing the encoder counts per revolution in NI MAX has absolutely no effect on the velocity of my linear slide.

Am I missing something? Do you guys understand what is happening here?

Thanks,

Ben

I don't think that the encoder is looked at during a move, when configured as closed loop stepper.  At the end of the move, actual position is compared to expected(from number of steps) and pull-in move(s) are made to bring it into position.  I also think you need to save the new setting a re-initialize the board for the settings to take.  Export your 7332 configuration and post the file here.
