I am using NI7344 motion controllers and Flexmotion VIs with LabVIEW 7. It is possible to configure motion axes (e.g. select servo or stepper mode) in MAX. What is the procedure for doing this using LabVIEW Flexmotion VIs? As far as I can see, none of the available VIs allow me to fully configure the motion controller from factory defaults without using MAX, like selecting the servo/stepper operating modes.
MAX is a good tool in a lab, but much less useful when an application built in LabVIEW is distributed to people who are not familiar with LabVIEW or MAX. In this case asking new users to configure their hardware using MAX is difficult and often results in incorrect configurations. I would therefore like to do *all* configuratio
n from within the LabVIEW application.
Is this possible under LabVIEW 7 with Flexmotion and NI motion controllers?
