Michael,
the NI 7334 (as every motion control board from NI)has it's own processor, DSP and FPGAs and runs the motion control completely onboard. You only need to configure the board in MAX and pass motion parameters to the board like the target position, velocity and acceleration values. The board will perform reliable moves even in a non-deterministic environment like Windows.
However it is also possible to use the board in a LabVIEW RealTime environment but this is just an option and it won't improve the move characteristics.
