Does anyone have a pinout for the NI UMI to AKD Drive Cable?

Solved!
Go to solution

I am doing some motion control with an NI 7350 card with the NI UMI 7774 breakout.  I am connecting from the UMI 7774 to a Kollmorgan AKD drive with the NI UMI to AKD Drive Cable.  This cable has a 20 pin terminal block which I beleive includes the home and limit switch signals, but I don't have a pinout of the UMI to AKD drive cable to verify this.  Does anyone know where I can get this pinout?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

The pinout of the 20 pin screw terminal connector of the UMI to AKD drive cable can be found on page 8 of the Getting Started with NI 7340/7350 Motion Controllers and AKD Servo Drives manual. Please feel free to let us know if you have more questions or this isn't what you were looking for.

Thanks,

Matt,

I had that manual, but somehow overlooked that.  Thanks for the help.  That gives me what I need.

Hi Matt,

Is there a similar Pin Out for the 10-Pin X8 connector on the UMI-7764. I am particulary after the connectivity of the inverted INHOUT signal.

Thanks,
Raja

Hi Raja,

Take a look at the link below:

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375543c.pdf#page=37

On the drive side of the cable, the x8 connector pinout is listed on page 37.  Pin 4 is the enable line, which is different terminology for the INHOUT line.
