We us the motion controller NI-7340 together with the UMI-7774 interface.
All encoder signals (A,B,Z) are connected to the UMI interface.
We would like to trigger a firewire camera with the index signal of axis 3.
Before, we used the modulo breakpoint function, but since this is to slow, because of the needed software re-enabling, we are looking for an other solution.
The z-phase signal would occur every 33 mm which would be fine for our vision system.
Is there a way to route this signal out of the UMI-7774 interface to use it as a trigger signal?
Thank for any help

Hi Syn66,
I haven't heard of a way to route the z index signal to a different output terminal on the UMI yet.
Is it possible that you just take the z index signal directly from the input terminal of the UMI and wire it
to the trigger input of your camera?
Best regards,
David
