I would like to communicate over RS232 from Labview6i to a compumotor 6k6 motion controller.

For Labview 5 you apparently need Motion Toolbox to talk to the compumotor 6000 series, but in my situation you should apparently be able to talk directly using Labview VI's? Please give me some advise on this.....

There are ethernet and RS232 communication VI's on your Compumotor Motion Planner CD. You can also find them on their website. Here they are. They operate using activeX.
