Jerky Motion

Hello,

I’m experiencing a strange problem with PCI 7344 motion board. After some time of operation (using our application to control the machines) the motion became very jerky. It looks like it is losing the tuning parameters. I’m not saying that the board actually lost the PID parameters, but the axis movement became jerky and truncated much like when you have bad PID values configured.

The problem is only “solved” if the board is reset using MAX’s “Reset Device” option or rebooting the host computer.

The setup is listed below:

-         NI-Motion version 7.5.0.3003;

-         Parker SMB82 brushless servos;

-         SLVD5 Parker driver using analogic input;

-         Tunning was performed manually.

Thanks.

Hi TulioB,

I have never heard about a behavior like that and it's quite hard for me to imagine what's going on here.
Does the problem also occurr when you stop your application and start some test moves in MAX? Are there any error messages or do you see any LEDs blinking in MAX?
What about the step response in MAX? Do you see any differences in the step response after the board was initialized from a power-up state and after the error occurred?
