LabVIEW with Modbus RTU/ASCII Servo

This is regarding a Motion/Vision project.

Our servo itself can only communicate via Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII across a serial connection. We need to know If Labview can communicate using a serial connection and use Modbus?

I need a little more information as to how we are able to communicate with Labview? Can it be done serailly with Modbus or using ethernet, DDE or OPC are the only choices?

There is native support for Modbus available. Please follow this link for the download. You can either use the serial port or TCP/IP for the communication. As LabVIEW supports also OPC and DDE this would also an option for the case that you have an appropriate OPC (DDE) server. In fact OPC is a bit easier to use but it requires additional software.
