Hello,
I'm working with an ESP300 Motion Controller and the program ESP Util Version 4.2 to move a motor. I have problems with my set up. I want to write a program by using the Terminal of the ESP Util version. This program should move a few steps and after every step it should send a trigger signal to my camera. This trigger signal should execute a program to record a spectrum. I found a program code in the ESP300 manual in chapter 4.4.4. (example 3, site 229 in the 300ESP manual-> you can easily find it via google). However, the example 3 just show how i can get a signal for monitoring the moving status. Futhermore, i have connected the controller with a camera via the GPIO connector. Additionally,i can see the spectrum of the camera via a software, which is called "WinSpec/32". Can anyone give my an advise how a program should looks like, when i'm using 4.4.4 (exp. 3) or something similar and a code, which moves the motor for a few steps?
Bye

Hi Metatron,
welcome to the NI forums and thanks for your post.
Generally I think that you should contact Newport directly on specific programming questions regading the ESP300 Motion Controller.
Here you can find a link discussing a very similar issue so that I suggest you go through this and extract useful information: Here
Another question is if you are trying to program the controller wie LabVIEW or some other software? Since the mentioned controller communicates with the PC via RS232 you can send commands using, e.g., NI-VISA. You can find a good introduction into NI-VISA here: Link
Hope this information gets you going! 🙂
Best regards,
Benjamin
