Dear National Instruments technical support,
at the begin of the year I bought an HR-8 piezoelectric motor from Nanomotion to achieve a nanopositioning system.
I mounted the motor following the instructions on the manual, but the system positioning performances are not as expected.
I use the motor in vertical position in a closed feedback with a linear encoder RSF Elektronic MSA 170.83 with a precision of 0,1 micron. The raising weight is less than the 50% of the max force that the motor is able to supply. The controller is a National Instruments PCI 7344.
The best precision that I am able to obtain after a carefull tuning is 20 microns in the going up, and 5 microns in the going down. Considering that the motor don't have any pr
oblems, I believe it is a tuning issue. Can you give me some advices to increase the performances in the positioning of my system?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Sincerely
Ennio Capria
