First things first, let's use integers instead of doubles to feed into the arduino nodes. 

In your configuration, do you have your axis set to relative or absolute position? With relative position, you would keep the same position after each move without resetting.

Frankly, I don't get what you mean by  an axis set to relative or absolute position.

Can you explain more? and does this has anything to do with the random start of Steps Remaining  value when the # OF STEPS entered is negative?!
