I am trying to understand what the PCI-7342 controller functions are. I am using it to control a (Parker) servo motor. I have very little background with labview so I apologize in advance if my questions don't make sense.
How do I use the controller to make the motor rotate at a set RPM? I have installed NI-Motion but I do not understand the software. I eventually want to make the motor perform user-supplied waves (i.e. the motor would have a sinusoidal output with a set max and min RPM and period, or perhaps a square wave, etc), but for now I would like to start with something very simple.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. I've looked through the manual many times and cannot understand what I am working with.

Hi Russell,
I would highly recommend going over some of the LabVIEW shipping examples for motion. Once you have a grasp of what they're doing there, you just need to ensure that the motion mode is set to velocity (using the Set Operation Mode.flx) and set the parameters up as such.
Do you have a specific question I can answer beyond that?

Thanks for the reply JeffL. I believe I need to initialize the board and set the mode, input the max & min velocities and accelerations/decelerations, s-curve, and then start the motor. Does this sound like I'm on the right track?
Thanks Again,
Russell
