Using NuDrive 3SR-211 with 7334

I am involved in a project to upgrade a 3-axis stepper motor system using a NuDrive model 3SR-211. The system was originally written using LabView on a nubus Macintosh. We're attempting to port it over to a windows pc using a 7334 board. As per NI recommendation, we're using a 68M-50F adapter to connect the 7334 to the NuDrive. Using MAX, I can't
get any of the motors to run. Using "interactive_control.vi" axis 1 will go CW for positive change, never goes CCW and goes regardless of axis selected. I connected the NuDrive to the old Macintosh and all 3 axes work as expected. I do not have the pinout of the 68M-50F adapter, and suspect the wiring is not appropriate. Last time we asked, NI said that the 3SR-211 NuDrive is like the 4
SX-211 (less 1 axis), or so they thought. I can find no reference to the 3SR-211 anywhere, the manual is lost and it was purchased long before I came on the project. Anyone know anything?

Paul, I believe the amplifier you're using is from a company called NuLogic, which National Instruments bought several years ago. From what I've found out, the 3SR-211 wasn't ported over to the National Instruments catalog after the sale took place. As such, I wouldn't be surprised if the 68M-50F bulkhead adapter mapped the lines incorrectly, as it was not designed with the 3SR in mind. However, if you let me know which motor controller and cable you're currently using with the Mac, I may be able to infer the pin out of the 3SR and from there figure out if that bulkhead adapter should work.

I have a similar issue where I need the pinout on the older nuLogic 3SR-211. Did this thread get any further?

Thank you for any details on the old nuLogic drivers, manual, pinout e.t.c.

Also did nuLogic use the IM483 in their design?

It's still true that there is no official documentation for this device available at NI. I have passed this thread information to the guys from motion R&D who might or might not know an answer.

I was able to come across a single page of a manual for the nuLogic 3SR-11 that has the pinout.

National Instruments never supported this product so it is difficult to come across documentation.

Hopefully this has all you need.

We do not have any official pinout information, though it looks to be different enough that the adaptors we do sell will not work.

Also, nuLogic did use the IM483 in its design.

Thanks,

Rodger.
