Hi at all,
I am using a Zaber motorized translation stage to move a delayline for an interferometric autocorrelator.
I want to make it to be more automized. So I was wandering if it is somehow possible trace the movement and calculate from the stepsize, the speed (and i am not sure if i need it the acceleration) the distance the device has traveled?
I am a bloody beginner and i have allready tried unbundle the "first response" output of the zaber request.vi which is working but I just have no clue how to handle the information further then?
I tried to unbundle the information from the "responses out" to get the speed and the position and write this to a x/y graph. (i am not sure if it will work, as i have no access to the lab for the next days)
In the next step (if this will work) I want to build a table where i want to write the distance (which i don't have now) in and data from a diode (which will be measuring light intensity).
I detatched a jpg. Maybe somebody can tell me if my approach is a good one to help me out?
Best wishes,
Martin

Hello Martin,
i think the best is to contact Zaber, because they should know how to calculate this.
You can also use the examples they delieverd to see how your system react and
then do some re-engineering to get the correct values for your calculation.

I wrote the Zaber instrument driver, Martin, and I think you'll find this answer helpful:

It talks about several ways to track the movement of a device in LabVIEW.

Hey Don,
thank you very much, this will indeed be very helpful for me!
Have a nice evening (at least in Czech Republic it is allredy evening)
