Allocation of bits

Hello all!

When configuring an acquisiton system with DAQmx, and I input its maximum and minimum value to DAQmx create channel.vi am am I allocating all the ADC (analog-digital converter) dynamic range to the specified values range (maximum value - minimum value)?

Sometimes.

A DAQ device has a limited number of ranges. When you specify the limits of the signal, DAQmx will use that information to select the best range. So, if you have a device with +/- 1V and +/- 5V ranges and you specify +/- 2V limit, DAQmx will set the range to +/- 5V.
