Any better "wait for trigger" on USB-6008 than polling?

I would like to have a vi that waits on a hardware trigger, and then continues with the program. (not triggering a data acquisition directly)  I have the counter from the USB 6008 available for listening to the trigger.

Obviously, I could simply poll this line... but that's not so elegant...   I was wondering if there were more cleaver ways to do this, even with this simple hardware.

In http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=250&message.id=17351&query.id=569820#M17351  I saw a interesting option using the DAQmx Create Timing Source  together with a timed loop.... However, that doesn't seem to work on the USB-6008.   Smiley Sad

Are there other tricks, or should I just poll?

Hi Anthony,

your USB 6008 device doesn’t support events with DAQmx.

Maybe you have the possibility to test an example with a M-Series card.

Find below a link to a knowledge base on our web side, this example shows you, how to handle a hardware event with DAQmx.
