Availability of NI 9234

Hi,

Does anyone have any idea when the 9234 module for cDAQ / cRIO will be released? I'm currently using a 9233 for a variety of different tasks, occasionally using an external capacitor to strip the IEPE, and am looking forward to being able to do this in a single box without any extras. I know it has been in the pipeline for a while, but does anyone have any more news on it?

Regards,

Tim

I think the best way is to ask directly to NI ...

The NI 9234 was released on March 3.   P/N 779680-01  It won't be officially announced until the end of the month when we have safety stock.   It is already supported in the current release of NI-DAQmx.    If you would like a USB-9234, you need to order an USB-9162 carrier and the NI 9234 module until the combination is officially released.

Sorry for the delay.

Kurt,

Many thanks, had been waiting to see when it would finally be made available. Just need to see how much more expensive that extra 1.2 kHz and switchable excitation will be!

Regards,

Tim

The NI 9234 has a US list of $200 over the NI 9233.    It is also offers software-selectable AC/DC coupling in addition to the higher sampling rate and selectable IEPE/ICP.    It has higher ratings on accuracy as well.

Hello Kurt:

If i did understand your mail, then you can use a 9162 carrier like the one shipped with with the 9233 and plug a 9234 ? Are the functions of the 9234 available through the carrier?, that is, select IEPE or not and AC or DC?, Also, can you select these states for each channel?

You can use an NI 9234 dynamic signal acquisition module with the USB-9162 (single slot) or NI cDAQ-9172 carrier 8 slot with NI-DAQmx 8.6 and above with full additional functionality  supported(software selectable AC/DC coupling, IEPE/ICP selectable, higher sampling rate).   The module also works with cRIO.    This same carrier also supports the 9237, 9219, 9221, 9233, 9201, 9211A, 9215A.    The NI 9234 support won't be officially announced until May but the NI-DAQmx 8.6 and above driver supports it.
