Hi, I have been having trouble configuring my system to output analog voltages using a PCI-6115/BNC-2110 setup. This equipment had been working in my lab as set up by a coworker who no longer works here. In the last week, the devices attached to the BNC box stopped working.
We first noticed the problem after I added some new equipment to the computer. While installing the new equipment, I had to reset all of the comports and reassign them manually (for some reason, one of the devices had to be run on comport1). To do this I followed instructions to clear the information under ComDB in the registry and rebooted. The native comports were reinstalled automatically, and I added the other devices (USB to comport adapter devices) individually.
Now to the problem. The PCI card almost always, passes the self test in MAX. Sometimes I get an error -50103 (The specified resource is reserved. The operation could not be completed as specified.), but I can usually get that error to clear in the MAX. The power light for the BNC box comes on. And there is a constant 5V output voltage from the CTR0 out port. Also, the attached devices work when I apply 5V directly to the BNC cables that go to the devices. All of this makes me think that the problem is not in the hardware.
Still, I can't get the devices to work either in MAX, or in Labview. Keep in mind, the programs and devices have all been around for a while and have been working until recently. No hardware changes have been made. The comport changes I made, I reversed and removed the new equipment. As far as I can tell, that part of the system has been returned to its old configuration. Also, I reinstalled both the DAQmx and DAQ legacy drivers with the most recent versions.
Is there any other way to test if my problem is in the software or hardware? I have suspected that some port/device/? assignment has gotten messed up. I am out of ideas for things to test/try to get the equipment back up and running.
Any suggestions?

Matt,
The error you are getting in MAX indicates that some other program is using the card when you are trying to run the test panel. (Maybe you had LabVIEW running simultaneously.) It does not necessarily indicate that anything is wrong with the card.
Are you having trouble with all the channels on the device or just Ctr0? Could the changes in the other hardware on teh computer have possibly caused a spike in voltage? Or perhaps something was shorted? I would recommend trying the card in a different computer to see if you can get it to work there, or at the very least in a different PCI slot.
