C language to NI modules

Hi all,

I am using a cDAQ-9178, CompactDAQ chassis (8 slot USB) and associated IO modules to interface field devices. I want to use C language to develop a control program on a PC WITHOUT using Labview. Is this doable? If it is, do I need any driver/software installed on the PC to ibterface the I/O modules? I am using ethernet connection from my PC to the CompactDAQ chassis.

Of course you can use C. You got the DAQmx driver with your hardware and you had the option to install C support. Examples are included.
