My lab purchased a USB 6501 card for acquiring data from a fuel flow meter. The transmitter ouputs a TTL signal and comes with calibration data for pulses/cc. Is there an easy way to use the counter on the 6501 card to measure the frequency of these pulses?
I'm starting to think we should have purchased a device with hardware timing. What card (preferably USB) would be best suited to this application?
Thanks!

Hi usapanb,
If you wish to have hardware frequency measurement capability, you need at least USB-6210, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/203189.
However, 6501 can also achieve this with software by doing edge counting, and divide edge difference between loop with time between loop.
