Can NI USB "high voltage" relay modules be used to switch ultrasonics

Solved!
Go to solution
A researcher needs to switch ultrasonic transducers to a single driver/sensor board.  Ultrasonic excitation is high frequency pulses hitting hundreds of volts.  NI units like the USB-9481 are called "high voltage" but are rated at only 250Vrms and for switching 30 VDC, I'm assuming this would not work ... does NI have any USB-based solution that can deal with high frequencies and high voltages?

Hello Stringman

I don't think so, but am curious to know what is your required specifications. I would recommend and isolated relay controlled by USB-6501 DIO board if software trigger is not a problem or else can use their USB M series DAQ board to turn ON or OFF your external relay.

Good luck 🙂

Actually, I was already considering using that exact device with ultrasonic-capable relays, so I guess I'll go with that.
