Can USB6259 be provided with BNC, screw terminal & mass terminal all 3 included

I ordered a USB6259 DAQ. In my order, I asked for all 3 possible I/O connectors namely, BNC , screw terminal & mass terminal connectors. The NI distrbuter provided the card with only the BNC & screw terminal connectors & claimed that it cannot accomodate the mass terminal connector!!! Is this piece of info right or not. And what if I need  the mass terminal connectors, should I give up one pf the other 2 connectivity connector?

Thanks

Hi Hesham,

I would like to ask for some clarification on what products and connections you were expecting? The USB-6259 comes in 3 different variations (screw terminals, mass termination, or BNC), however, none have interchangeable connections. The pinouts for all 3 variations can be found in the 625x Specifications.

The pinout for the screw terminal version can be found on page 24, and shows the pin number for each line (analog, digital, PFI, etc). This gives you access to all lines in the same format (screw terminals).

The USB-6259 BNC, page 25, gives access to the same lines, but in different forms. We can see that the analog input and analog output lines, along with some digital/PFI lines can be accessed via BNC, but the remaining screw terminals access grounding lines and digital lines.

Lastly, the USB-6259 Mass termination will allow a USB connection to the computer, while not giving a breakout option for the pins. I have typically seen this used with custom breakout boxes and custom designs which only need access to certain pins.

From your description, I believe you may have the USB-6259 BNC, which does have BNC and screw terminals, however we can now see that these do not access the same lines and will not have any type of mass termination.

Lastly, when you say “NI Distributor”, did you order from NI or a 3rd party company? Either way, if you are not satisfied with your purchase, I would encourage you to call the company back, and explain in detail what you are looking for. If you purchased this from NI, the representative may bring on the applications engineering department to assist with any unclear information or to help search for a product which may best suit your project.

Hope this helps!
