Hi Jeremy,
The NI Device Loader service shows up in the Services list as 'nidevldu'. The reason it occasionally won't start is as the computer boots up there is a default
timeout setting for the services to start, if this is exceeded then by default they won't try to re-start.
Take a look at this knowledgebase article as it shows how to
find the service and change the default properties.
The correct drivers for your PCIe-6251 are the DAQmx drivers,
version 8.6 can be found here. Please do post back if you cannot find 'nidevldu', this is most likely why you are receiving the 88705 error. Following the steps in the knowledgebase article will
prevent this from happening in the future.
To test your device I would recommend using a TestPanel in MAX. You can find this by following these steps:
- Run MAX
- Click Start Menu
- Click All Programs
- Click National Instruments
- Click Measurement & Automation
- Find your device in MAX
- Click the Devices & Interfaces tab to expand the tree
- Click NI-DAQmx Devices to expand the list of detected devices
- Locate your NI PCIe-6251
- Run a Test Panel
- Right-click on the NI 6251
- Click Test Panels
- Click Run to start acquiring a Differential On-demand mode input from ai0
- You may need to change the Physical Channel configuration if your input sine wave is to a physical channel other than ai0.
I hope these tips help, post back here if you are still experiencing problems with the PCIe-6251
