Connecting FP-1600 to computer

I am trying to connect to my FP-1600 using the National Instruments Measurement & Automation Explorer.  I connect my FP-1600 to the hub using a straight Ethernet cable, the device appears under "Remote Systems" under the IP 12.0.0.2 and when I go to Network Configuration, the program gets stuck "Attempting to connect..."
What am I doing wrong, and how can I communicate to my FP-1600?  Thanks for the help!!

Hi,
It sounds like your controller might be on a different subnet than your host computer.  Is there a red x next to your controller in MAX?  If so you might want to reset the IP on your Field Point by switching the IP reset DIP switch on and then cycling the power.  After you do that you will want to turn the switch back off so you do not reset your IP every time the power is cycled.  Also check out this knowledgebase because it covers most problems people encounter when connecting their Field Points.
