Connecting SHC68-68-EPM to SCXI-1001 issue

Good day,

After upgrading some of our harware and our LabView version we have been experiencing intermittent data reading issues. We have recently discovered that all our problems have been caused by the new SHC68-68-EPM shielded cable. The new PCI-6220 card has some extensions screws to wich we are able to secure the cable but our old SCXI-1001 chassis does not have those extension screws, we are thus unable to secure the cable to the chassis. As soon as the cable moves a little bit, we get reading errors.

We have been looking to buy those extension screws to be able to secure the cable to the chassis but we have been unsuccesful. Does anyone know where I could find/purchase these extensions screws?

Thank you for your help.

lcleroux,

Thank you for posting on the NI Forum. I have a 1349 SCXI module around my desk and also a SHC68-68-EPM. The securing screws on the SHC68 are just too short to reach the securing screw holes on the SCXI device. The best solution would be to purchase the jacksocket screws that adapt the new cable to the SCXI that you had previously purchased.

There are 3 options along these lines.
a) Buy a set of 40 jacksocket screws from NI using the part number 187949-10.
b) Buy a set of 4 jacksocket screws from NI using the part number 187949-01
c) I did some digging, and I found that the exact dimensions of the jacksocket screws are:
2-56 SOCKET, M2.5 SCREW, .348 OVERALL LENGTH. 0.148" HEAD LENGTH
if you wanted to look for these screws at another retailer, that may work as well.

Just let me know if any of these solutions will work for you.
