DAQ Assistant in HP Netbook freezes

Hello.

I am trying to measure acceleration signals on a HP netbook with NI 9233, LabView 8.2. by means of DAQ Assistant.

When I try to change the default sensitivity value for the one of my accelerometer, netbook just freezes and does not recover until closing the assistant. No problem if I perform this step in my desktop.

What the reason? Any help to resolve this problem?

Note: I am a beginner.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Regards from Mexico.

Hello,

Does it freeze as soon as you change the sensitivity value? or does the freeze happen after changing the sensitivity and then pressing the run button?

What version of DAQmx are you using?  If you aren't sure you can check in Measurement & Automation Explorer:

  • Go to Start>>Program Files>>National Instruments>>Measurement & Automation Explorer
  • Under My System, expand the Software tree
  • Click on NI-DAQmx Device Driver and you'll find the version

I'd also recommend you try repairing DAQmx.  To do this go to Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs, select National Instruments Software and click Change/Remove.  Select NI-DAQmx X.X and then click Repair.  This will attempt to reinstall any files or components that are missing.  You may need to restart after doing this.

Hello Kristen,

Thank you for your support.

In fact only one digit can be introduced in the sensitivity dialog box.

For example, the default value is 1000 mV/g, and needs to be changed to 99.3 mV/g.

I introduce the first "9" and then it freezes.

Same thing when I try other values.

Then I close the DAQ Assistant and error message displays "An unknow error has ocurred"

DAQmx version is 8.8.0.

I also repaired it as you suggested.

Any suggestion is welcomed.

Thanks!

Hi Kara_Kat!

Following on the suggestions, given that Repairing DAQmx didnt work, i would suggest updating to a more recent version of DAQmx. You can get ir for free at www.ni.com. Also, what operating system are you using?

The next version i would recommend is 8.9.5, you can get it on the next link:

http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1384/lang/es

Finally, if you can simulate any board on MAX and try to interact with it on the DAQ Assistant that would help us know if the issue is the driver itself.

Hope this helps.

Have a great day!!
