The DAQ Assistant does not show up on the Express Input palette. I have the Drivers CD for USB-6501. I have searched the help files but I don't see how to install DAQ Assistant if it isn't already present.

Hi James,
I installed the DAQmx driver but I still don't have the DAQ Assistant. I am using LabVIEW8.0 and I open a blank VI then right click to get the Function palette then I open the Epress palette followed by the Input palette.
I see Instr Asst but not the DAQ Assistant. Any other suggestions.
Thanks
Tom

As the readme states, the oldest version of LabVIEW that is supported is 8.6. According to this, the latest you can use is 8.9.
p.s. In the future, please include such essential information as LabVIEW version and OS. You could have gotten the answer sooner if you had provided this with your original post.

When I open LabVIEW8 there is a window labeled "New to LabVIEW? Under that heading the first line is "Getting Started with LabVIEW" in that PDF an example is given for data aquisition using the DAQ Assistant. If the DAQ Assistant is not available for this version of software then why is it given in an example from this version?
Thanks

Hi Alias
The DAQ Assistant is available but not installed with LabView, you will need to install the driver and it will install all the examples using DAQ, what you found is a PDF with examples of the capabilities of LabView, but you dont see the vi of the examples until you install the DAQmx software accordings with the Labview version you have.
