DAQ Far From Computer Running LabVIEW

Hopefully I've placed this topic in the correct forum.

I'm working on a DAQ setup for a university rocket club. I've selected a cDAQ-9189 to acquire data and command actuators using a NI 9485 relay module. The DAQ will be on the test stand and the controlling computer will be at the command tents. So far tests have not exceeded 200ft safety range, but in the future I anticipate this reaching 600ft which exceeds the maximum recommended ethernet length. My current idea is to place a switch in the middle and have two 300ft ethernet cables from the DAQ to the computer running the VI. Is this an awful idea? Other solutions I've thought of are: run a fiber line with a transmitter and receiver on either end, but because we need to bring in and remove our setup everytime we test I can see the fiber cable getting damaged quickly. Another one is directional wireless antennas, but I think the safety and reliability of a hard-wired network is the better choice. Any thoughts or suggestions?
