DAQ express is broken (cDAQ-9172 9481 )

Hello,

I am a reasonably experienced labview user and am running Labview 8.5.1. on several machines.

On the particular machine I wish to use this hardware on I have connected a cDAQ-9172 using USB with a NI 9481 relay switch.

The hardware shows up when connected and using automatiion explorer I can turn on and off the individual relays without a problem.

Now in Labview itself I drag DAQ express to my block diagram, double click and the hardware configurator appears.

I can go to generate digital output and again control the relays manually beautifully.

Now here comes the problem: when I press OK, the window returns to the block diagram but ... the DAQ express does not update.

It has no terminals I do see the "updating bar" complete to 100% but the DAQ does not work.

In my other 2 labview installations on two other machines I do not have this problem, but I cannot switch computers.

I would really appreciate any help you might have.

I already "repaired" the labview installation with the cds but it did not help.

THanks,

-Peter

just to update, it is the DAQ assitant VI that I was referring to. I erroneously mentioned it as DAQ express VI.

Hello Peter,

Sometime we have seen similar issues with express VIs when certain behind-the-scenes components get "out of whack" for lack of a better phrase.  Do other Express VI's cause the same problem?  Also, if you create a task in MAX and save it, then place a task constant on your LabVIEW block diagram, select your task, right click on the constant and select "Generate Code", does it successfully generate LabVIEW code?
