I´m using a DAQPad 1200 and had a similar problem after upgrading from Me to XP. The cure was to set the communications port (parallel) by hardware and not by software. You have to select this choice in the setup menu that can be loaded just as you turn on your computer. See your computer manual for the correct keys (for example, holding down F2 during boot up or Fn and F1, etc)
After selecting "hardware configuritaion" and rebooting your computer, you will be able to run NI-DAQ 6.93 and get the device recognized. If you have no more problems, you should be able to run the test panels.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.

This is a problem for some Windows laptops. Please try downloading and installing NI-VISA Run-Time Engine v. 3.2 or higher. This install includes the shared components required to fix this problem. Also please upgrade to NI-DAQ 6.9.3 (the latest version which supports the 1200) if you haven't already.

You can download the NI-VISA Run-Time Engine at: http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/954feaeea92d90918625674b00658b83/c0cdc738994fcbc886256eeb004e9bb3?OpenDocument

Let me know if this does not help.

Hello,

Are you trying to use a PCMCIA card in a PC through a PCMCIA to PCI adapter? If so, National Instruments cannot garauntee that these cards will work with every adapter. If the DAQ1200 will work without the adapter, I think we can can conclude that these two products are not compatable...
