DAQCARD 6062E does not load or function properly under WIN XP (new Dell Latitude 2.2 MHz P4) with either the BNC-2110 or BNC-2090. Have tried NI-DAQ 6.9.3 and 7.0....both fail

The same 6062E DAQCARD-cable-BNC2090 or BNC2110 that runs under WIN2000 on a couple of our lab notebooks fails to install under WIN XP Pro on new DELL Latitude P4's. MAX produces the errors "The device not responding tot he first IRQ level" or "The device not responding to the selected base address." Tried NI-DAQ 6.9.3 and 7.0. We unplug the DAQCARD and place into a GATEWAY WIN2000 machine and the system runs OK, although some issues on DAQCARD recognition appear when rebooting.

Are you using the native Windows PCMCIA socket driver? If not, I would suggest to uninstall the 3rd party PCMCIA socket driver and install the native Windows socket driver from the Windows XP CD. I would also try to upgrade to NI-PAL 1.6.1 by downloading the attached NI-PAL (ni-cdu1610.exe), and run the installer. I hope this helps.

Toddd:
We did a NI-PAL upgrade, but we still get the same error messages:
"The device is not responding to the first IRQ level"
"The device is not responding to the selected base address"
We are not using any third party PCMICA socket drivers.

Here is the setup we are using:

Notebook: Dell Latitude 640
BIOS: A09 (this is the latest)
PCMCIA adapter: Texas Instru .PCI-1420 Card bus controller
PCMCIA adapter driver provider: Microsoft
OS: Windows XP Pro
Service Pack: S1 (Latest)
BNC: BNC 2110/2090
DAQ card: 6062E
Shielded cable for DAQ card: SHC68-68-EP
NI-DAQ version: tested with NI-DAQ 6.9.3 + NI-PAL patch
: tested with NI-DAQ 7

What could be the problem?

Thank you,
Rajesh
